The stone hunt (on the Eel RIver)

From the peaks snow and rain to the rivers the waters drain
The Rivers embark to disperse the mountains bath across the earth

running like an eel the River turns
fast and slow
twisting above and below

For miles and miles the river travels cutting incisions deep and narrow leaving these scars in it's wake
The river forges a path that form gorges the rivers flow moves forward
The momentum of the rivers current erode the banks they take with them a heavy load
Jagged rocks fall below the surface
The flow of the rivers  fall from the sides to the bottom of the riverbed

The rocks find new luster with the flow of sediment
The river hits the rocks with the silt and sand
Breaking down their elements
Weathering the rough edges
Smoothing and polishing their surfaces
Creating a natural patina more beautiful as time passes
The stones are exposed when the waters recede in Spring before the cycle repeats
Inviting new hunters to their edge
seeking the

a stone to bring home
once the season lowers its tide
Water flows moving the sediment,

A small window opens during the Spring
when the waters lose their vigorous temperament in May
The stones are reachable during this time until the rivers rise again

to the currents the stones are exposed
from a rock the mountains shedding bath
what does a stone resemble

bath
earth
momentum

taking  route long forgotten
Waiting the hunters seek
the right seasons to travel
to far off banks (creek)
From the riverbed
something protrudes
under the right conditions
rocks fall from their positions
the river rocks are taken
from the erosion
perfect conditions for a hunt the weathering is hopefully done

The rivers reach spans all the way to the sea but it's journey will be repeated continually

to set the scene
for a hunt like few have seen
a place for travelers to get away

behold
(taking the mountain stones will be memories of the vista)
The peaks remain
They will not be
but some may
and what they once contain

explain remain train contain

drag the earth

My waters cut the boundaries
and set the stage for new territories

This river was nice for three come together at a point
bringing with them somewhat fame for it's stones
It's named Tres Rios on the map

These are the things that may reveal the treasure
on this day

Long before the beginning of the day
the River is revealing it's new treasure

The suns heat tames the weather
Rising and falling the River is empty
 for the traveler

Sinking and swimming
driven long to begin the day
on the bank we meet
with the Sun beating down
bent back

The man will explain
